Letters to the editor: Defacing mountains

I am shocked that a company would be allowed to destroy/deface our mountains like this for financial gain.
I find it ironic that the San Gabriel Valley Gun Club was forced to close because they might have been a minor noise inconvenience, when Vulcan is not only allowed to continue to operate a destructive but potentially harmful operation in basically the same location, but to expand it.
Strip mining has been banned for decades for exactly what Vulcan is doing to our beautiful mountains. Make them go out to uninhabited areas to rape and pillage our scenery!
We need to demand that this area be claimed by eminent domain and returned to public land.
