Two meetings are scheduled to discuss Vulcan Materials' new application for mining in the Azusa Rock Quarry near to Fish Canyon.

At a regularly scheduled city planning commission meeting, there will be a study session regarding the application at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Azusa City Council Chambers, 213 E. Foothill Blvd.

Then Vulcan Materials will have a community meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Azusa Readiness Center, 1351 W. Sierra Madre Blvd.
The new application proposes an exchange of 80 acres of mining land already approved for mining on the east side of Vulcan's land for 80 acres the company owns on the west side that is not currently approved for mining.
