Signup for Anticipated Referendum
We are anticipating that the revised Azusa Rock mining proposal will fail to address the main issues associated with expansion of mining and the inadequate safeguards for revegetation performance. However, we can't be sure that the Azusa City Council will veto the revised plan, despite its critical flaws. If the Council passes the plan, we will have exactly 30 days to gather signatures to hold a referendum to allow the people of Azusa to decide on the adequacy of the revised mining proposal. We are very confident that we can win such an election, but we must gather ~2000 registered, Azusa-resident signatures in less than a month. Will you please indicate your willingness to joining us in this effort, should it be necessary? Here are the kinds of volunteer work we anticipate:
- Gather signatures in shopping centers
- Gather signatures door to door (walking)
- Telephone supporters to arrange for their signatures
